KAT VON D—Lock-It Powder Foundation (Medium 52)

KAT VON D—Lock-It Powder Foundation
(Medium 52)

I have always loved watching Kat Von D`s show “LA ink”, and during that show we used to see how creative Kat can be with her makeup. So when, more than 2 years back, I saw her makeup products in Sephora (Toronto) I was super excited to find out that she has an amazing makeup line. I bought one eye shadow palette and still can`t get over the fact how awesome her products are!

So a few weeks back, I was randomly going through the Sephora website, and there I saw it! The most anticipated(by me & Usha lol) product-KVD Lock-it Powder Foundation in 17 shades. I was not in a state to wait for reviews and then buy it later on. I trusted the name KVD so much that I immediately bought it!
My first impression of the product packaging is that-it looks neat, with sophisticated artwork done by KVD
herself. It`s a small round compact with the incredibility trusted initials on the surface.

With much anticipation, I opened the box and something was not right! Later, I figured out that the product is very little in amount(9g) which is half the product of M.A.C. but almost twice as expensive. But it really does not matter as the product is super pigmented and required only a little to cover my full face.

I have super oily, sensitive skin which tends to be sometimes warm-toned and sometimes cool-toned but I am not neutral (Super confusing, right? LMAO) The powder in the pan looks yellow-ish(Warm toned) but when I applied it onto my skin, it gave me a pinkish glow :P Still I don`t have any complaints whatsoever. Like I said, it is super pigmented, little goes a long way and if I mix it well, it doesn`t look fake.

The compact comes with its own little sponge which is soft and makes life easier as there`s quite a lot of fall outs if used with a brush. But I prefer to use is with it with my Sigma Buffing Brush as it gives my face an airbrushed look which looks natural and perfect for me. This powder also evens out my skin tone and get rids of any redness my skin has. It is build-able so if I want more coverage, I can always use a little bit more. Like it`s mentioned in the product description, the powder gives my skin a velvety smoothness.

The product box claimed it to be smudge, sweat and transfer proof. I agree. My skin does not look cakey at all. It also does not oxidize in my oily skin. But one thing, after a few hours of wearing it, my skin gets oilier than I would like it to be L which may be because I live in such a humid country!!!

Nevertheless, I am very much happy with my purchase. It cost me around $34(excluding tax) and I bought it from Sephora. I will definitely purchase it again. Regards.
